Japan After Perry
I went to an exhibit called Japan After Perry at Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo other day, and it was awesome. Large colorful woodblock prints of city scenes, people including IJIN (non Japanese), I was able to feel vitality of the time. For those of you who are Japanese, you better know who Perry is. For those of you who aren’t Japanese, click here for details. I hated Japanese history classes, because they just made me memorize all the important dates or names of shoguns & emperors. After seeing this exhibit, I’m interested in learning history again.
